The Catholic 20-Somethings Ministry is keeping in its prayers this week members Natashia Elstad and Anne Shropshire as they both mourn the losses of their siblings.
Caleb Ingram, 4, went home to Jesus on Aug. 3 and rests in heaven with all of the angels and saints. He was a shining example of a Christian -- saying yes to God's plan for him and never complaining once. 20-Somethings member Natashia Elstad said she felt God's presence in Caleb and often when Caleb held her she felt as if she were being held by Jesus. Caleb's journey can be found on Caleb's Web site at www.ingram-family.net/caleb. To make a memorial to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in Caleb's memory, please visit www.pbtfus.org and mail a check to 302 Ridgefield Ct. Asheville, NC 28806. Kate Shropshire, 20-Somethings member Anne Shropshire's sister, passed on Aug. 7 after having battled with MRSA (a bacteria resistant to mutiple antibiotics) since February 2007 as well as Psuedomonas more recently (another deadly bacteria). She developed pneumonia and sepsis, but through the intercessions of her friends and family and through the help of God, she was on the road to recovery, so it seemed. The last weekend of Kate's life, however, she suffered a stroke that deprived her brain of oxygen, which resulted in a seizure. While the doctors thought that she would recover, she also developed Pseudomonas and her already weakened lung situation deteriorated rapidly. Kate passed away surrounded by family and friends who love her dearly. Anne says her family knows Kate is going to a better place. T make a donation to a scholarship set up in Kate's name, please mail the donation to: University of Texas at Arlington School of Nursing Care of Dean Poster Box 19407 Arlington, TX 76019 This donation will be used to help other individuals follow in Kate's footsteps as a nurse practitioner, the profession she knew and loved.
