Who: All 20-Somethings
What: Mission Trip
When: June 1st -3rd. The deadline to sign up is by 5 p.m. on May 20.
Where: Monterrey, Mexico
Why: To help serve those less fortunate
On June 1-3, the Catholic 20-Somethings Ministry will be participating in a mission trip to Monterrey, Mexico. We invite each of you to prayerfully consider participating in this apostolic endeavor!
On this mission, we will have the blessing of staying with the Brothers of St. John who will be leading us in prayer and providing us with lodging as we serve the poor. The plan is to leave on Friday June 1st after work and head down to Mexico. We'll sleep on the U.S. side of the border and wake up bright and early Saturday morning to cross into Mexico and get a full day or work in Monterrey. Then sleeping at the mission, going to church, finishing up a half day of work and heading back to Austin late Sunday evening. All in all it will be an exhausting and rewarding weekend.
A few logistical issues:
Due to new government regulations, it will be necessary for us to travel with a passport. If you do not have a passport it is too late to get one in time. Maybe next year.
There will also be a $75 fee to cover all food and transportation expenses.
Although not all of us will be able to attend, we invite all of you to pray for the success of this mission and for all whom we are called to serve. The root of fruitful apostolic action is prayer!
If you are interested in signing up for the mission trip or would like more information, please contact Mariangela Cavazos or Mark Crowley, whose contact information you can find under the Members section of this Web site. |
