We want to be sure our ministry offers an equal amount of spiritual, service and social activities.  We don't want the 20-Somethings to lean any more toward being just a social group or just a spiritual group or just a service group.  The good thing about the 20-Somethings is that we offer a broad atmosphere for young Catholic adults in their 20s to grow in their faith through all types of activities.

One area that really needs to be nurtured in the group is the aspect of service.  Something we're going to implement is the idea of a designated monthly service project.  These monthly service projects will be organized by a different member of the group each month, which in turn will give members who haven't had the chance to get very involved a sense of ownership of the group.  It will also encourage members to volunteer as it will be truly a ministry-wide volunteer effort.  The service project can be a project of the organizer's choice.  Julie Horton is organizing May's project.  Thanks Julie!  She will be in touch with the group in the near future as things come together.  If you'd be interested in organizing a project, let me know and I'll designate a month for you.

On a side note, please be aware that the church office periodically asks our ministry to help out at sporadic times, so there will still be other opportunities to volunteer if you can't make the monthly project.

We also talked at the planning meeting about how our most well-attended events are the Sunday 5 p.m. Mass and dinner gatherings and volleyball on Tuesdays.  If you haven't had a chance to come to either, come on out!  Both of these events draw big crowds.

We're all very excited about how big our ministry is growing with all of the events we have going on.  Please remember that as a 20-Something, you are welcome to plan events at your leisure.

If you have other ideas, questions, comments or complaints, I'm the girl to speak with.  You can always contact me anytime -- my contact information is located under the Members section of the Web site.

This is your group, so help make it what you want it to be!  It can't possibly be done by a small handful of people for such a large group, so your input is much needed and appreciated.

Thanks for all you do; it's been an amazing experience coordinating the 20-Somethings!  I'm so blessed to call you all my friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.  Y'all rock.

Your sister in Christ,
Jen Jones
