The Gospels are filled with examples of how Jesus loved through the service of his fellow brothers and sisters
in Christ. He even served those that many said were not worthy of being served. The truth is, however, that
we all have been deemed worthy of the love of Jesus Christ. We are called as Christians to be the hands of feet
Jesus on earth today by serving those around us. When we spread that love through service, we are spreading the
love of Jesus in God's kingdom here on earth. Service can take on many forms. There are infinite ways to serve
ranging from working at a local charity to advocating for a social justice issue. And when looking at ways to
serve, we are called to remember that
"...serving others begins at home. A disciple is continually trying to 'spread light' by acting out of
forgiveness and compassion with family members and neighbors."
